Here's what Nintendo of Europe president Satoru Shibata had to say-

THE LAST OF US MAIN GUYS LEADING UNCHARTED 4

When Amy Hennig (director of Uncharted 4) announced that she was leaving Naughty Dog and Uncharted 4 behind earlier this year, rumors started spreading that she was being forced out of her role to be replaced by Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley (the two main guys behind The Last of Us). However, this was only the beginning of what seemed to be an exodus of the major players of the Uncharted team at Naughty Dog. Within a few weeks multiple key figure at Naughty Dog announced that they too were leaving the company.

Much of the gaming community speculated that Uncharted 4 was in a very rough place as a result of these departures. It was unclear how the project will move forward. Well Naughty Dog has now come forward with information on the progress of Uncharted 4 as well as confirming the rumors of Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley taking over the project.

In an interview with Game Informer, Naughty Dog's co-president Evan Wells said' "It's not so much a transition period, actually. We've asked them to lead the project. They are excited as veterans of the Uncharted franchise to take the responsibility and they're doing great", when asked about the two front man of The Last of Us taking Amy's Hennig's position after her departure.

Evan Wells also noted, "It was not a difficult transition at all. Everybody just sort of accepted that as the new order of things and soldiered on. I mean we've been making enormous progress. If anything, things are accelerating instead of slowing down."

Christophe Balestra (fellow co-president at Naughty Dog) also noted that the game will see some changes as a result of the new leadership behind the project. When asked if the new directors are bringing new priorities to the project he said, "A little bit. They have to fall in love with the game they're making, right? They'll make the changes that they think are right. They're going to have to adjust what they've got and make it what they think is right for this game. There are some changes, obviously, that they will be making."

MARIO KART 8 BOOST WiiU SALES BY 666%

Just as Nintendo predicted, Mario Kart 8 (launched on May 30th worldwide) is helping to get those WiiUs off the shelves and into consumers homes in massive numbers.

UK chart tracker UKIE announced that Mario Kart 8 has been a massive success and boosted WiiU sales by an amazing 666% and landed in third place on the UK software charts. It will be interesting to see if Mario Kart 8 does the same for the WiiU in North America and Japan.
